Superfest Disability Film Festival 2026

Listen to this post:

My favorite film festival is back with another fantastic and accessible–and free–lineup. As Superfest has done for several years now, you can attend on-site or virtually. Live events run from Thursday, September 9 to Sunday, September 13. Streaming access is available until September 20th!

Visit the Superfest site for the 2026 film listings and descriptions or check out the at-a-glance guide. This guide breaks down which films will show in the different screening blocks. You can register for the whole thing or individual blocks. There’s even a Cafe Crip event dedicated to meeting some of the Superfest filmmakers on September 13th at 4 PM Pacific.

If you know you’re only going to stream the films and not go to the on-site events, you can register online for Superfest streaming access. And if you are in San Francisco, you’ll have the chance to spend time at the beautiful Disability Cultural Center at 165 Grove Street. I went there last week for the drag takeover open mic night. It was an incredible feeling to finally be in the on-site space after attending virtually for a couple of years and to attend a masks mandatory event. (And the performances were phenomenal.) If you haven’t been to the DCC yet and it’s convenient for you to visit, Superfest is a great reason to go.

Accessibility includes, at a minimum, a physically accessible space, captions, audio description, and ASL. Their event accessibility guide has lots of great info and instructions.

While it’s free to attend, if you have the means, please consider donating to help Superfest keep going with such high standards and high levels of accessibility!

Head to SuperfestFilm.org for the overview, listing of events, and everything you need to know to enjoy this year’s festival.
